Frequently Asked Questions
What is specialty coffee?
Specialty coffee is coffee that has been selected and evaluated according to a recognized quality standard through professional cupping.
To be considered specialty coffee, it must score at least 80 out of 100 points. This evaluation is conducted by certified tasters, known as Q Graders, accredited by the SCA (Specialty Coffee Association). Link: https://sca.coffee
En In simple terms: you can tell the difference. It offers greater balance, natural sweetness, and more defined notes, with a cleaner finish. It is measurable and enjoyable quality.
What does Rituale taste like?
Rituale was created to be sophisticated yet easy to enjoy. This blend combines two complementary origins:
Ethiopia contributes a more floral and citrusy profile fresh and expressive.
While Brazil adds sweetness and roundness, with a warmer base and a creamier mouthfeel.
The result is a well-balanced, creamy cup with a very pleasant finish.
Which is better, espresso or lungo?
If you want to better appreciate the aromas and balance, we recommend an espresso. With a lungo, the coffee tends to become diluted and may lose its distinctive notes.
If you prefer a longer coffee, a good alternative is to brew an espresso and add hot water separately: this preserves the flavor profile better while adding body.
What devices is it compatible with?
Our capsules are 100% compatible with the Nespresso® Original system (the traditional home format). It’s the easiest way to enjoy higher quality without changing your routine.
Which machines is it not compatible with?
If your machine is not a Nespresso machine, or if it is a Professional office system (such as Zenius, Gemini, or similar models), or a Vertuo machine, it does NOT use the same format as Nespresso® Original.
If you're not sure, contact us and let us know the model, or send us a photo to this email address (hola@ritualecoffee.com), and we'll confirm it quickly so you can shop with confidence.
What does it mean for a capsule to be compostable?
This means it is designed to break down completely under optimal conditions of humidity, temperature, and oxygen, rather than lingering as waste for years. After 26 weeks, with the appropriate treatment, it fully decomposes.
For us, this is a logical choice: if coffee is a daily ritual, the packaging should also be designed with sustainability in mind.
If I don't compost at home, where should I dispose of the used capsule?
After use, place the capsule in the organic waste bin (brown bin): it is designed to be composted (in a home or industrial composting system) and, in order to break down, it must be mixed with organic waste.
Does “intense” mean better?
Not necessarily. “Intense” usually describes a darker roast, not higher quality. A darker roast can make the coffee seem stronger, but it also tends to mask nuances and accentuate bitterness.
At Rituale, we aim for something else: balance, natural sweetness, and a clean finish. Less artifice, more coffee.
Shipping and Delivery Times: How Does It Work?
Once your order ships, you'll receive an email with the tracking information. The exact delivery times and costs are always displayed at checkout before you pay.
Subscription: Can I pause or cancel it?
Yes. The subscription is designed to give you coffee without any hassle, but with complete control. You can easily pause or cancel it from your account (and if you prefer, we can also help you via email). No hassle.
What's included in the box, and how should it be stored?
Each box contains 10 capsules. We recommend storing them in a cool, dry place, away from direct light and heat sources, to keep the coffee at its best.
